It’s always a bit trick trying to find the most exciting and captivating way to start a blog…the first post seems so important!

Luckily, these are exciting times and it’s not hard to find inspiring stories about women starting up businesses online. Every day I’m reading an article or watching an interview on TV about the great female entrepreneur revolution and the Internet is prime for that sort of action.

There are websites and networking groups popping up everywhere, encouraging women to take the next step and act on their online business ideas. I even read about search engine optimisation in Cosmo magazine the other day. (I’m 27,  yes – way past the demographic but it was guilt-free holiday reading!)

I decided to start this blog for a couple of reasons.

1. I’m in the process of setting up my own business, not so much an online business but one that sells my online marketing services.

I’ve worked on the Internet my entire career as an employee and I feel like now’s the right time for me to set up shop (at home) and start a business that will one day allow me to reach my dreams. I wanted to share what I’m learning and hopefully meet other women who are in the same boat.

2. I’m so excited about this empowering movement of women creating and running businesses their way especially those using the Internet to do business.

I’m seeing plenty of women entrepreneurs create solo and small businesses with the sole purpose of staying small. Not every business wants fast growth and not every business owner dreams of growing a corporation.

In fact, it seems the majority of enterprising women who are opting out of corporate life want to earn a living that fulfills more than their need to pay the bills.

I hope that I can provide information, links, articles and advice to help women who are wanting to create all that and more from doing business on the Internet.
