One Day I Want to Work in a House Full of Creative Entrepreneurs
Ever since I was a wee lass (read: a grade ten work experience student who landed work with a brilliant small business) I always wanted to work in a beautifully renovated Queenslander close to the city with a group of talented individuals with complementary skills.
We’d each have our own rooms for offices, and basically run our businesses independently but share space, resources and skills that could build an entire project or that we could all access as needed.
I’m my dream work house I’d be the online marketing person, there’d be a web developer with mad skillz, a graphic designer, a photographer, a copywriter, admin person and a dog.
Lately I’ve been hearing about coworking and it’s sounding pretty much like a version of my dream work environment.
I’m a bit nervous about the potential loneliness of working full time from home next year and I’m guessing it’s not going to take me long until I seek out some sort of coworking environment.
Then who knows, maybe one day I’ll get my Queenslander with a sunny basement studio and a house full of creative entrepreneurs all working together in harmony.
A girl’s gotta dream right.

Working from home is not as lonely as I expected thanks to twitter and social media! I joined a gym and that gets me out of the house, too. Plus I’m often out running errands and things, so it makes the days go faster.
working from home is an aim I’ve long cherished. What you are describing is a step more — and I like it! Shall add it to my dream wishlist and one day it may come true … (dog a must)
I am also a little concerned about working from home but have started to book networking events and look at other ways to get out and about during the week. I will put my hand up for the admin person in the dream work house, sounds like a great idea!!!
